Current Events Project - Current events always spark the interests of G/T students. We talk about a few current events and zero in on one that sparks the most interest. The students listen to the news, get on the internet and read the newpaper. (This is mostly done at home, but can be done at school,also.) Soon newspaper clippings, internet research, etc. are brought to school. The kids will greet you in the morning with-"did you see the news last night..
I especially like this "current events project" because the students direct it and it takes off in what ever the direction... source
