Methodology

Over a seven day period beginning January 29, 2005 and ending February 4, 2005, visitors to the ProTeacher website were invited to complete an online questionnaire consisting of twenty-six multiple choice questions. Technology was surreptitiously employed to prevent duplicate submissions from being counted. To assure participants that the survey was anonymous, a separate entry form was used to collect visitor information for the optional $100 drawing. A random winner was selected from all these entries.

ProTeacher then omitted responses that were incomplete on certain key questions such as 'grade level being taught' and 'type of teaching assignment'.
